
BANDUNG - the growth of Muslim travelers who increasingly sharp sped encourages Indonesia and Malaysia to explore cooperation in tourism in order to promote both countries as a tourist destination of Islamic world.
It is presented in the international seminar on Joint Seminar on Islamic Tourism (JoSIT) 2015 with the theme of Enhancing Collaboration Between Indonesia and Malaysia Muslim Friendly u.s. Destinations at Hotel Clarity Bandung, Monday (26/10).
It is said by the Assistant Deputy field of Southeast Asian Market Development the Ministry of tourism (Kemenpar) Rizki Handayani said, the cooperation of the two countries is very important in order to attract more foreign tourists coming to Indonesia or Malaysia.
"We hope Indonesia or Malaysia, both can bring in foreign tourists and Muslims even more," he said in a news conference after the first session of the seminar ended.
Added by Deputy Minister of culture and Ramble Malaysia Datuk Mas Ermieyati says, a lot of tourism potential that can be developed, including the halal food, halal spa, fashion and so on.
"Looking at the potential opportunities that could be developed further, we hope cooperation between Malaysia and Indonesia will forward this captured Muslim travelers of the world market," he said.
The form of such cooperation, according to him, will be developed through tourist packages visiting Islamic tourism destinations in both countries. "We can create a package of a few days in Indonesia, and a few days in Malaysia," added he.
Previously known to Indonesia have been preparing a flagship destination-destinations as Moslem Friendly Destination among others, Aceh, West Sumatra, Riau, Lampung, Banten, Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Central Java, East Java, Bali, Lombok and Makassar.
Lombok recently also won two awards in the World Halal Travel Summit 2015. These awards are the world's Best Honeymoon Destination Halal and Kosher world's Best Tourism Destination.
